October already????

Where has the year gone?  Well, I guess with everything that has gone on this year I just didn't really notice the pages of the calendar flipping over yet once again.

Our daughter is in her 4th week of Basic Training for the Air Force.  So far she has gotten to call home 3 times and letters are starting to come more regularly.  She sounds so excited about the experience and we are so proud of her for making the choice to enlist and follow in our footsteps.  It's not a decision that everyone can make, and, I believe, it takes a special person to raise their hand and volunteer to serve their country.  Her graduation is set for the first week of November.

Recently we bought a female German Shepherd puppy who we have named Schatzie.  She is a real sweetheart and fitting in quite well to our home.  Ginger, our 6 year old Aussie Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix has adjusted well to her new sibling and we find that at least once a day they are playing and wearing each other out.

We got our son's senior pictures the other day and it was a big dose of reality for me.  I guess it's had me a little quieter on the 'net lately. Both my babies are grown.  He will be 18 in December and she will be 22 in November.

When I am not working I am busy with my Avon business and I am trying to whittle through a long list of projects I want to do.  One of the major ones is cleaning up the basement. There are still a lot things down there that never got put away when we moved here 3 years ago as well as a great majority of things to sort and either throw out or get ready for a garage sale.  I just need to come up with a plan...or schedule some time on each of my days off in which to do it.

Organizing has never been one of my strong points and I find myself sometimes getting further behind on my days off because there is so much I want to accomplish.  If anyone has some tips or advice on how to get organized (my business and my home) I would greatly appreciate it.

Fall has arrived in Central Illinois, although today we are back in the low 80s.  The leaves are starting to change and we've had to turn the heat on at night.  Right now though, the windows are open and there is a nice light breeze blowing.

Until next time dear readers....hopefully I will have something a little more interesting to write about!

I want to thank you again for stopping by my blog and weighing in on the 'troll' incident. It's always nice to make new friends on here. :)

Please express my appreciation to your daughter for choosing to serve her country. :) That's a tough decision to make in times like these. I believe it takes a very special person. :)

BTW, have you ever checked out organizedhome.com ? It is a great site with TONS of information on organizing all aspects of your life. There are tons of printables, too. :)

I need to organize things too Michele. But I frankly don't give a darn right now. But my poor little house is bursting at the seams. One goal I do have for the winter; organizing our closet in our bedroom. Putting in some sort of closet organizing system. But,,,for now, it is what it is...and UNORGANIZED MESS!
